Assumptions:

The proper function of the human individual is to change the world for the better one idea and one action at a time.
The proper function of government is to protect the individual and society from harm.
Capitalism is the most efficient economic system devised by humans to date.
The American system of government has created in response to abuse of power by the former government.
Capitalism needs government enforced rules to prevent abuse by individuals with concentrated power.
The proper source of power is our collective sense of right and wrong.
We must work to build the world in which we want to live.
