Human Conversation

Communication among two or more people.

Q. Why do humans engage in conversation?

A. It is an educational process. We want to exchange information. We either have specific questions to be researched or just want to gather general information or determine what information the other person has. Sometimes it is just to be socially polite. But, there is always a goal in having the conversation.

In conversation, emotions play a role. They help determine friend or foe. Is the information reliable?

Objective:

• to ask questions in order to gain information
• to transfer information to another person

Conversations normally go smoother if you answer a question when they are asked.

Questions to have in the back of your mind during a conversation to be most effective :

1. What can I do to help you?
2. What can you do to help me?
