Organize for a global economy
To organize for a global economy, we need to set the rules so that each country can manage its own work force in an efficient manner.
Times have changed. We need to change with them.
To save jobs with American business, we need to do the following: eliminate the corporate income tax, make it against the law for business to fund health insurance or retirement systems. That should put American business on a level playing field with foreign companies.
To restore federal tax income, add a national sales tax on all products and services no matter the source. To provide for universal health care, require everyone to purchase a uniform health-care policy from one of two national pools: below retirement age or above retirement age. To provide for retirement funding, require everyone to save into a national 401K-like system to replace Social Security over time.
Once the new rules are in place, all union contracts would need to be renegotiated. Contracts should be for a one-year term only.
The government should set the rules; business should implement the plans.
